This publication presents the results of a nationwide survey of health departments in the United States that gathered background information about the needs, desires, and fundamental capacity of local health departments.
It also examines how information technology is used in local health departments, what health departments think about their current IT capabilities, and what they believe would be useful to measure in a survey about local health department information technology use.
