professionals gain a better understanding of how to implement
the Turning Point performance management model and its four

Performance Management Learning Reports
Looking for a quick overview of leading public health and private sector performance management initiatives? Read the following "learning reports" prepared by state, local, and national public health leaders involved in the Turning Point Performance Management National Excellence Collaborative. As part of their 2001-2002 fact finding efforts, members conducted site visits with states that had innovative performance management efforts. They also invited experts to present on private sector initiatives such as the Balanced Scorecard and hot topics related to performance management, such as accreditation and workforce development. These summary reports provide a concise and often candid look at these efforts.

North Dakota assessed their performance with public health
system partners and organized action planning. Contacts for
each jurisdiction are provided for more information.
